My aunt from San Jose is 47 years old, and has been struggling with getting pregnant since she married her husband about 20 years ago. After several failed attempts with IVF, my aunt and uncle gave up and accepted life without a child. Miraculously, they shared wonderful news with the family in the beginning of this year. My aunt had gotten pregnant (naturally) with not just one baby, but two! Yes, twins. =]
After having lunch with my mother today, I discovered that my aunt gave birth a couple days ago at 32 weeks gestation to fraternal twins; a boy and a girl. Since the two babies were delivered preterm, they are both being held in the hospital's NICU. Their precious daughter is showing promising signs of stability, but their little man isn't doing too well. His tiny little heart and lungs are trying ever so hard to pull through.
Please, God... help this baby overcome the battle he is now fighting.
